Didi Distrito de Diseno Santo Domingo

Carlos Jorge, principal at Arcoplan, collaborated with Colectivo Amigos de la Ciudad on the urban activation and launch of Santo Domingo’s new Design District (DiDi)—a revitalization project aimed at transforming a central commercial corridor into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly hub for design, culture, and community. Working alongside local institutions and architecture schools, the team reimagined the streetscape through public installations, urban furniture, and curated programming including live music, performances, and outdoor retail. The initiative received strong support from local businesses and the public, underscoring the city’s growing appetite for high-quality, design-forward public spaces.
